Frequently Asked
questions
The manufacturer of Fresh Roof takes so much pride in their product that they offer a 6-year transferable warranty which is the longest warranty in the industry. It guarantees that the asphalt shingles we treat will remain flexible for at least 6-years years from the date of treatment. And since we know you may not necessarily live under the same roof for the next 6 years, the warranty is fully transferable without restrictions. It remains valid even if the shingle manufacturer’s warranty is void because of transfer restrictions, time or any other limitation included in manufacturers’ warranties. The warranty will be active for another 6-years for each treatment you get, and your roof can be treated by Fresh Roof as many times as your roof is standing.

The best time to get your roof treated by Roof Revival is when the asphalt shingles start to show signs of drying out and losing their flexibility. This usually happens when the roof is between 6 and 10 years old. However, sometimes we treat roofs that are 15 to 20 years old and have even been able to save roofs up to 30 years old.

Asphalt roofs begin drying out and becoming brittle at different rates, since we are located in Florida the intensity of the sun’s UV rays are likely going to dry out your roof sooner compared to those in other regions of the country. Most roofs are ready for a Roof Revival treatment by the time they are 6-10 years old. But don’t worry if your roof is older than that and hasn’t yet been treated. We have treated much older roofs up to 30-years old and have been able to extend the life for a guaranteed 6-years.

The biggest sign to look for is a loss of flexibility in the roof shingles. So, how do you know if your shingles are drying out and losing their flexibility?

Asphalt shingles contain asphalt granules, which are the small, sand-like pebbles that stick together when the shingles’ natural oils are still intact. But once those oils start to dry out with age, the granules begin flaking off and you may see them in your gutters, downspouts, etc. Other signs your roof is drying out include black stains and streaks or shingles cracking, breaking, and curling. Yes. Fresh Roof is an all-natural plant based oil, so it’s safe for people, plants, pets, and the environment.
A Roof Revival treatment purpose is to extend the life of your aging shingles. That means restoring the function of the shingle. Roof Revival can have a cleaning effect over time because it does kill any algae or moss on your roof, but its purpose is not to clean the roof. If you have significant algae or moss on your roof and desire a clean roof in addition to extending its life, we will soft wash your roof and make sure your roof is cleaned first, and then have a Roof Revival treatment scheduled approximately 1 week later. You’ll be amazed at the difference in appearance, color enhancement, added life, and the savings!
A normal treatment usually takes between 1-2 hours depending on the size of your roof.
An average treatment will last 5 – 8 years and can be repeated. Fresh Roof works best if applied when shingles are new.
Most likely in a positive way, if at all! For example, there have been many instances where a Roof Revival application has helped property owners get insurance coverage after receiving an insurance notice about their roof needing replacing. Of course, every situation is different, so we can’t make any guarantees. But with our expertise and experience we can help point you in the right direction.
